This position is responsible for coordinating and managing the engineering and commissioning of utility scale solar projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as Synergy’s point of contact for all engineering subcontractors and client’s engineering.
- Create RFP’s for engineering subcontractors.
- Manage RFI’s and Submittals that come in from subcontractors.
- Manage equipment procurement; transformers, reclosers, switchgear, medium voltage equipment, combiner boxes, DAS, BOS.
- Manage redline/as-built process.
- Assist with utility company and customer interconnection coordination.
- Assist with environmental permitting.
- Review testing and commissioning documents.
- Assist with project value engineering, estimating, and procurement.
- Assist with DAS commissioning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience managing engineering in the solar EPC industry.
- A well-rounded engineer with a strong electrical background, and civil/permitting experience is a plus.
- Experience in the utility scale solar industry is required.
- Strong computer skills are a necessity, such as MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint/Word.
- Smartsheets and Procore experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface directly with owners’ representatives, the design team, building departments and other team members.
- Electrical power engineering principles and familiarity with computer and analytical tools as relates to equipment sizing, load flow and power quality.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand plans proficiently is a requirement.
- Ability to read specifications and understand the subject matter.
- Understand contract management of engineering consultants.
- Travel is required.
